FAQ
What is the difference between using alcohol-based products and Nanoshield for disinfecting surfaces?
Alcohol based and other similar spray disinfectants only cleanse the surface from existing viruses and bacteria. Viruses and bacteria can survive on these surfaces in between scheduled cleaning times.
Nanoshield is a self-disinfecting film that viruses and bacteria cannot survive on. Using Nanoshield is the equivalent of wiping a surface with disinfectant every 5 to 10 minutes.
How long does the film/spray coating last?
At least 6 months. As long as the antiviral layer is not tampered with or scratched off, viruses and bacteria will continue to be cleansed.
Is your product safe for use with pregnant mums, children, babies and pets?
Yes. Nanoshield has undergone rigorous oral toxicity, ocular and skin irritation, mutagenicity and cytotoxicity testing. Nanoshield is perfectly safe to touch.
Can your product eliminate 99.99% of the coronavirus, COVID-19?
We have successfully tested the product against two globally recognised surrogates of SARS-CoV-2 (responsible for COVID-19). That means we know two viruses from the same genus with essentially the same properties and structure to the SARS-CoV-2 cannot survive on Nanoshield.
What is the heat resistance of the film?
E.g. if I install the film on a dining table, will a hot dish affect its copper coating?
The film can withstand boiling water (100°C, 212°F) for up to 4 minutes.
How strong is the adhesive of the film? While removing, can it be easily taken off without damaging the surface?
We have two adhesive types: low strength for glass screens and high strength for timber and painted surfaces. Removability is dependent on the application, but neither should damage the surface.
How long can the product last? Does the copper coating lose its strength after time?
The antiviral effect will last for at least 6 months till over 12 months, without tampering or scratching off the antiviral resin.

HOW IT WORKS

COPPER IONS
Nanoshield is a protective film which produces electrically charged copper ions. They attach to viruses and bacteria, altering their structure and stopping the way they work.

ROS
Nanoshield reacts with molecules produced by bacteria (H₂O₂, O₂ •–) to form a chemical substance called Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). ROS damages both the proteins and nucleic acids in viruses and bacteria, providing an antibacterial and antiviral effect.

DIRECT CONTACT
All viruses are surrounded by a protective protein layer that holds the infectious components inside. In order for viruses to spread, this layer needs to remain intact. Nanoshield copper particles are rapidly absorbed into this protein layer, bursting their protective wall.
